Wow, just dodged a bullet there. He wanted us to pre-pay for a translation. It was a small amount but we still refused to do it. I got suspicious when the merchant name of an invoice he sent didn’t match the name of the person I was corresponding with.

You say: you don’t want to talk about activities because you don’t want to spoil the surprise, if somebody thinks of signing up.

I’m interested in those activities and hope you tell about them now, almost two years after your adventure. I don’t think of signing up and I live so far away (in Scandinavia) that I have no changes to participate, if an event like this is arranged again.

I’m interested because I have experiences in walking blindfolded. Many years ago I had a friend who was also interested in same things and we did many blindfold walks in neighborhood of our homes. Usually we walked between our homes (distance about 8 km, walking time about one hour). I had the same feelings as you: the city is different when you don’t see it and you must use other senses.

Did you feel being the focus of attention though you didn’t see it? It is not usual to meet somebody walking blindfolded on the street.

SAME thing happened to me! I sent the doc that I wanted to be proofread, and she/he sent the invoice (via paypal). I asked for full contact information before sending payment, and of course I received no reply from him. That’s when I decided to Google the email address: “delpipidi2@yahoo.com” (the name attached to this account is “chris delpiero”… the paypal account has the following contact info.: Claude Persie, email: french_english3@yahoo.com. So, utterly, relieved that I didn’t pay. Thank you so much for posting this warning!

This guy almost scammed me as well, but I asked him to provide me with his phone and he never replied with it. Then, of course, he sent me a Google translation which was of course not good.
